<subfield code="a">The San Antonio & Aransas Pass Railway, by John W. Hedge and Geoffrey S. Dawson. Most of the early railroad development in Texas linked Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. Later lines connected the smaller, but still significant, cities to the larger ones. The SA&AP is just such a line. The history of the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway fills in significant portions of the key pieces of the puzzle that was the building of a complete interconnection of those towns and cities for the very first time. Central Texas was the home of the SA&AP. It had the good fortune to connect Houston to San Antonio, but the misfortune to become a Southern Pacific property. A lot of SA&AP track is still used but most has been abandoned due to route duplication. This volume speaks to the loss on an early line that held special significance to people people who lived along the line and depended on it for their support and commerce. One can be richly rewarded by the details of how this railroad linked the vastness of Texas for growth far beyond a vast, wild and lonely frontier. Published in 1983 by AMA Graphics with 148 pages on matte stock in 11 3/8 X 8 3/4, hard cover with dust jacket, Library of Congress card 82-090929. It has one small marking, no stains, tobacco odors, writings, library markings or tears of any kind except the little tears on the jacket. If it doesn't meet your expectations, return for a full refund, less shipping. I don't have a PayPal account so it can't be accepted for payment.
